Volunteers

Our numerous activities and services are made possible by the many volunteers who make a valuable contribution of their time to assist our residents live their best lives at our Resort.  Without them, many of the activities and services simply would not be available.  Volunteering is also a good way of meeting new people.

The following list gives an idea of the roles available to residents who wish to volunteer some of their time.

Activities and activity leader

Please refer to the activities page (click here) for a complete list of the activities that you may be able to assist with.

 

Bus Driver

Volunteers may drive the regular Westfield drop off and pick up service when Levande staff are unavailable.  Some volunteers are also available for groups and activity trips or for private bookings to specific destinations such as to the airport.

 

Celebration Sunday

Assisting at the monthly Celebration Sunday afternoon.

Coffee Hub

Volunteers deliver coffee and food to patrons of the cafe and clear tables as necessary.

Craft Barn

There is a roster of volunteers who serve the customers in the shop.

Dinners, payments and raffles

Similar to the bar, there are many tasks that need to happen for the meals service to occur.  These include choosing the meals with the chef, laying the tables, putting cutlery in wallets, arranging the sheets for diners to book their meal, designing and printing the notice board flyers.  Additionally, there are the volunteers take payments prior to the meal, sell the raffle tickets, buy the raffle prizes.

Events Team

​Meet regularly to choose upcoming events such as dinners, bar times, BBQ's and all of the other things that make living at NLRR such an enjoyable place.  Plus the volunteers set up the tables and seating for the functions held at Town Hall/The Amble Inn.

Forums and morning tea

Arrange and book guest speakers, prepare and serve the morning teas that are available at each forum, ensure that residents are aware of the upcoming forum topics, carry out the draws at the end of each forum.

Library

​​​Volunteers keep the library in good order, arrange for new books, filter out the old books and so on.​​​​​​​​​​​​

Security

Nightly inspections by volunteer residents of the village to check for unlocked doors, lights/air conditioners left on, and maintenance issues.  Any incidents are reported to the village management.

Shuttle driver

A roster of volunteers who provide this service for the residents, including to the Bingo, dinners and other functions at the Town Hall.

The Amble Inn

The Amble Inn has a large variety of roles and tasks that need to happen for the bar to function.  These tasks are not limited to serving drinks, there are glasses to be collected and washed, tea towels to be washed, stock to be ordered and collected, fridges to be stocked, and the list goes on.

The Hub newsletter

​​​​​There is a team of volunteers who edit, proofread, contribute and generally assist to produce the monthly Hub village newsletter.

Welcome Group

​The Welcome Group arrange to greet and meet with our new residents to give them information about all that is available to them.  The new residents are given a welcome pack that has a lot of information that they will need. Our greeters are available to answer questions that the new residents may have.

Workshop

​Volunteers help to keep the workshop in a tidy condition, assist with any projects that you may have, can provide tuition to learn a new skill, report faulty equipment to the village management and to arrange for the induction of any first-time users of the workshop.
